Berchtesgadener Land
"Allweglehen" Campsite with its chalets and wood lodges nestles in the heart of "Berchtesgadener Land" holiday region in the south-east corner of Bavaria in the immediate vicinity of Lake "Königssee" and the Austrian border, not far from the town of Salzburg.
"Berchtesgadener Land" holiday region with its national park, its high mountains, its lakes and its gentle rolling hills provides a wide variety of opportunities for interesting leisure activities, such as countless hiking routes to suit any taste, cycling trails, a summer toboggan run, "Watzmann-Therme" Spa Centre, skiing areas and a wealth of cable cars.
In the local area and in the neighbouring regions on either side of the border there are also numerous interesting places for days out and visitor attractions, for example Lake "Königssee", the Documentation Centre on Mount "Obersalzberg", the salt mine with therapy gallery, the Alpine zoo with birds of prey, "Almbachklamm" and "Wimbachklamm" gorges as well as the town of Salzburg, "Lokwelt Freilassing" Railway Museum and "Herrenchiemsee" Castle.
Customs and Culture
The customs, traditions and the local crafts are, along with the charming landscape, the historic monuments, the bathing facilities and the skiing areas, major attractions of Bavaria and of "Berchtesgadener Land".
In Bavaria traditions have been preserved more than in other regions, because the people here are very proud of their ancient customs. When enjoying a stay in one of the chalets or wood lodges on "Allweglehen" Campsite, you will have the opportunity to attend traditional events which are organised throughout the year in Bavaria and in the local area around our camping site.
Lake "Königssee"
Lake "Königssee" is an outstanding attraction in "Berchtesgadener Land". The lake is characterised by an excellent water quality and its unique location amid high mountains. On the lakeshore you find the small "St. Bartholomä" Church, a gem of baroque architecture.
Lake "Königssee" is the starting point for numerous walks and mountain hikes as well as for the exploration of the national park. The famous "Echo of Lake Königssee" always casts a spell over the visitors.
Salzburg
Salzburg, the "Mozart and Festival Town", is only a few kilometres away from "Allweglehen" Campsite. Until today the town owes its reputation and prestige largely to the creation of Wolfgang-Amadeus Mozart.
The "Mozart Festival", which takes place every year in July, is the major visitor attraction of Salzburg. However, the town is worth a visit throughout the year.
